I find it somewhat confusing to understand the symbols - but buy it at your meeting, from Weightwatchers. It's roughly half of this price! Someone said you don't have to measure your stride but you do, it asks for your stride length. Also unless the walk from my desk to the my office door is 45 steps (in a 5 foot cubby), I think there might be some step registration errors. If you even move in your chair it adds several steps at once. Even on days when I am not active it logs about 15000 steps. I liked the old one better. At a moderate pace, I can walk a mile in 20 minutes. When I used this pedometer on an asphalt, flat, trail, after 50 minutes the pedometer said I had walked .97 miles. Back at home, I walked a distance I had measured with my car that was .4 of a mile. The pedometer, after I did a round trip, said I had walked .42 miles. This is a serious issue for people who want to walk, but might not be able to walk long distances. After walking what I thought was 1/2 a mile according to the pedometer, I was exhausted. I had to turn around and return the way I came, with no bench in sight. I am sure I walked at least 2.5 miles, altho the pedometer said .97. There is no way it would take me 50 minutes to walk one mile. If WW is going to sell this product, it needs to have the company calibrate it correctly. I bought this at my weight watchers meeting for $25.00. It works great! I wish I had bought it sooner. You have to read the instructions and set it up properly. After that, it is very easy to use. There are 2 setting choices for counting steps/activity ponts. You can set it for an "activity walk" or for "all day" (I choose all day) . If you choose all day, then it will start counting steps towards activity points once the minimum steps are reached (what a person walks in a typical day). If you just want to use it for an "active" walk then it starts counting steps towards activity points right away. It really takes all the guess work out of figuring up activity points. It gives milage, date, times, pause, and a few more options. I wear it ALL the time and it has helped to motivate me. I bought this pedometer at a Weight Watchers meeting, but thought I would help others by posting a review here. I did check here first before buying it, and there were no reviews to help me out. So, that being said...I say save your money. Steps don't actually start counting toward points, until you have walked over a certain amount, and I think that amount is around 4,000. This past weekend, for example I walked just over 10,000 Saturday and it was only 2 points. A huge downfall I think is that a good shake of this pedometer and it adds steps to your count. How is that helpful?? I do like that it shows the distance you have gone, and it has a stop watch, not that I can think of when I would use it. For those of you on the program and are signed up online, there is actually a way under "Track Your Activity" to enter in your actual steps and it will convert it to points for you. I would actually recommend one of the Omron steppers instead. Hope this was helpful to someone... SAVE YOUR MONEY. I paid $20.00 for this one when one from Walmart would have served me better for a lot less. I walk my local golf course year round doing upper body activity along with walking a very hilly terrain. I work up a soaking sweat. Yet, my WW Pedometer gives zero points. I increased my time and still zero points. The pounds are coming off so I know I'm doing something right. Still zero points. I'm back to hand calculating my activity points, serves me much better. I plan to give this to someone at a WW meeting if they think it might help them. For me,it only increased my frustration and feeling of personal failure.
